Da ética geocrítica à ética socioambiental: o sentido dominante no campo geográfico brasileiro

Neste artigo, partindo do conceito de ética geocrítica, discute-se o sentido dominante dado às concepções sobre a relação homem-natureza e ao tratamento dos problemas socioambientais pelo campo geográfico brasileiro. Tem-se como fundamento teórico-metodológico as concepções de sentido e de ética de Max Weber e analisam-se duas correntes do pensamento geográfico: Geografia Crítica e Geografia Socioambiental. Por meio do exame das origens e das teorias em que se baseiam essas vertentes geográficas para abordar as questões ambientais, procura-se identificar possíveis conexões entre elas. Conclui-se que existe uma permanência de sentido da ética geocrítica na Geografia Socioambiental, o que torna possível afirmar que tanto a ética geocrítica tradicional quanto a ética socioambiental atual correspondem, em certo sentido, a uma mesma ética.

ABSTRACT

The following study, based on the concept of the geocriticism ethics, discusses the dominant meaning regarding the relationship between man and nature and how social-environmental problems are seen by the Brazilian geographic scientific field. It follows Max Weber’s concepts of meaning and ethics as its theoretical and methodological foundations and in addition, it analyzes two streams of the geographical thought: the Critical Geography and the Social-Environmental Geography. By verifying the origins and theories on which these geographical aspects are based to address environmental issues, it attempts to identify possible connections between them. It is concluded that you can find the geocriticism ethics within the Social-Environmental Geography, which makes it possible to say that both ethics are related, in some extend, to the same concept of ethics.
