Abstract

ABSTRACT

The construction of a fair, equal, and plural society is a challenge of the present times and requires the promotion of democratic education and human rights education. This study aims to reflect on the conception of human rights education and democratic education, aiming to identify if there is any approximation or connection between these two conceptions. It is a qualitative study, based on descriptive and bibliographic research. The results show the democratic education and human rights education are like two dimensions of the same reality, as they both connect for the same ending, which is the strengthening of democracy and the peaceful coexistence among people, regardless of the social condition, gender, race, religion, nation, and sexual orientation.
