Violência doméstica contra a mulher em tempos de pandemia

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has created new forms of coexistence, in the social and private context. The increase in domestic violence against women is an example of this 'new normal'. In this scenario of Covid-19, in the Brazilian reality, this article aims to analyze to what extent social isolation has contributed to the increase in data on domestic violence against women. This is bibliographic and documentary research, of exploratory and quantitative and qualitative approach. The results indicated that there was a significant increase in cases of domestic violence against women during the social isolation adopted in the pandemic, as reporting became more difficult — which consequently affected the resolution of cases.
