USE OF WHATSAPP AS A FACILITATOR IN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

The coronavirus pandemic requires adaptations in all sectors of society, including Education. There were many challenges to be overcome with creativity and innovation. In this online teaching scenario, digital social networks were highlighted, being also used as auxiliary tools for educators and students. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the use of WhatsApp as a facilitator of the teaching-learning process of a Doctorate in Education discipline at a private university in Curitiba-PR during a COVID-19 pandemic. This research is developed by a case study, which uses the social network itself as a data collection instrument. The data released were analyzed using the complexity paradigm (BEHRENS, 2007) and using theoretical surveys on the use of digital social networks (BOTTENTUIT JUNIOR; ALBUQUERQUE; COUTINHO, 2016); (FREITAS, 2015).
