This article aims to highlight the thoughts of a basic education teacher, mother, small businesswoman, and researcher, during remote teaching implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. The topic of Distance Education, Emergency Remote Teaching, instructional design, and innovation will be addressed. It seeks to explain the researcher's routine when appropriating skills in the use of digital information and communication technologies, during a professional master's course and apply this acquired competence to her personal and professional life. Finally, it raises the possibility of a positive sequel to the pandemic: the appreciation of the role of the teacher and the more forceful application of technological tools in education after the pandemic period.
