Abstract

The pandemic caused by the virus (SARS-COV-2) opens up new educational perspectives, even in the face of several factors, such as financial and infrastructure, the emotional problems caused by physical and social isolation have become a challenge for teachers and students. As most of the studies published so far aim to analyze the impacts on students, emphasizing the views of teachers is essential for society to recognize the challenges of the emergency remote education experience in the path of pandemic education. In some schools in the private network, the format of distance classes was adhered to, with web conferences along the lines of Distance Education (EaD). In public schools, before the migration, classes were suspended, or vacations were brought forward. The objective of this hermeneutic research is to show how physical and social isolation had repercussions on the teaching of biology, through the perception and discourse of teachers, and to understand which aspects of the pandemic support change in daily school life, in teacher-student interaction, finally, the attitude of teachers regarding continuing education. The results show that the virtual environment has become a possible learning space and that one of the main difficulties is related to the lack of skill in the use of technological languages and digital platforms. It is essential to continue training teachers in this pandemic moment of neglect and conservative conditions in the Brazilian educational scenario, to promote motivation, critical dialogue and the search for cooperative alternatives among teachers to face the conflicts and insecurities of the current reality.
